Finn Allen scored an unbelievable 151 runs off just 51 balls for the San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom in the opening match of the 2025 Major League Cricket. It was one of the most explosive innings ever seen in T20 cricket.

After Washington chose to bowl first, Allen came out to open and attacked from the start, helping his team reach 67 for 2 in the powerplay.

The real fireworks came in the middle overs. Allen smashed a record 19 sixes and broke Chris Gayle’s old T20 record with the most sixes in an inning. He batted at a strike rate of nearly 300! He reached his fifty in 20 balls and his century in just 34, the fastest ever in MLC. He then hit 150 in only 49 balls, a world record in T20s.

No bowler could stop him. He hit Mitchell Owen for four sixes in an over, smashed Saurabh Netravalkar for three, and blasted Glenn Phillips for three in a row. His amazing knock took San Francisco to a huge total of 269 for 5 and almost won them the match before Washington even started batting.

2. Nicholas Pooran: 137 (55)*

Nicholas Pooran played one of the greatest T20 innings. He scored an unbeaten 137 runs off just 55 balls for MI New York in the 2023 Major League Cricket final against Seattle Orcas.

It was a do-or-die game, and chasing 184 to win, MI New York lost a wicket in the first over. But Pooran, who was leading the team in place of injured Kieron Pollard, took charge right away.

He started attacking from the beginning, hitting his fifty in just 16 balls. Pooran smashed 13 sixes and 10 fours with a huge strike rate of 249.09.

With calm and smart batting, Pooran led his team to a big seven-wicket win with four overs left. His stunning knock not only won the match but also gave MI New York their first MLC title. His 137* is now the highest individual score ever in a T20 final.

3. Heinrich Klaasen: 110 (44)*

Heinrich Klaasen played a match-winning gem when he scored an unbeaten 110 off just 44 balls for Seattle Orcas against MI New York on July 25, 2023. It was a high-pressure run chase of 195 runs in Morrisville, and Seattle was struggling when Klaasen walked in. But he changed the game with his fearless batting and made MLC history by hitting the first-ever century in the league.

He smashed 9 fours and 7 sixes, batting at a stunning strike rate of 250. Even though wickets kept falling around him, Klaasen stayed calm. 

With 19 runs needed in the last 2 overs, the game was tense. But Klaasen rose to the moment, hitting crucial boundaries and finishing the match in style with a six. His knock was full of power, control and gave Seattle Orcas a thrilling win in one of MLC’s most unforgettable chases.

4. Nicholas Pooran: 108 (60)*

Nicholas Pooran delivered a clinical run-chase with an unbeaten 108 off 60 balls. Anchoring MI New York’s reply, he balanced his team’s condition with caution and aggression.

In his explosive inning, he hit 7 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 180. He paced the innings with precision, then accelerated in the middle overs to take control.

5. Glenn Maxwell: 106 (49)*

Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten 106 off 49 balls for Washington against Los Angeles on June 17, 2025, was a masterclass in T20 finishing.

Walking in after Washington lost their second wicket in the 8th over at 62 for 2, Maxwell initially played with caution as the innings progressed with a run rate of 7.5. By the half inning, the score was 78 for 2 as Maxwell took his time to settle. In the final 10 overs. 

Maxwell showed his class by scoring 81 runs off just 29 balls in that phase. He smashed 11 of his 13 sixes and both of his fours during this period. His fearless innovation and ability to hit all parts of the ground left the Los Angeles bowlers helpless. 

Thanks to his acceleration, Washington finished on 210 for 4 from 78/2. This “Maxwell madness” under pressure once again proved why he remains one of the most feared finishers in modern T20 cricket.

6. Andre Fletcher: 104 (60)

Andre Fletcher’s 104 off 60 balls for Los Angeles against Washington on June 26, 2025, was a classic anchor inning. As an explosive opener, Fletcher took charge early and gave his team the start they needed. He rotated the strike smartly and formed crucial partnerships to steady the innings.

Faf du Plessis smashed an unbeaten 103 off 53 balls for Texas Super Kings against MI New York on June 29, 2025. After losing an early wicket, he counter-attacked in the powerplay, brought up his fifty in just 21 balls. Texas were 67/1 after 6 overs, thanks to his aggressive start.

The scoring slowed in the middle, but du Plessis held one stand. He picked up pace again in the final 10 overs with the support of Donovan Ferreira’s quickfire 53 off 20. Together, they pushed Texas to 223/4. Du Plessis hit 9 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 194.33.

His knock combined calm leadership with explosive hitting. It set the platform for a 39-run win and showed why du Plessis remains one of the smartest T20 captains in the game.

9. Finn Allen: 101 (53)

Finn Allen played a match-winning knock for the San Francisco Unicorns against the Texas Super Kings on July 26, 2024, in Dallas. Batting first, Allen scored a powerful 101 runs off just 53 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes.

Allen reached his half-century in only 26 balls and got to his century in 52 balls. He attacked the bowlers, especially Marcus Stoinis and Zia Ul Haq, taking 16 runs off Stoinis in both the 2nd and 13th overs, and smashing two consecutive sixes off Zia Ul Haq in one over.

Josh Inglis supported Allen with a quick 37 from 25 balls, and Hassan Khan added 27 from 15 balls at the end, pushing the Unicorns to a strong total of 200/6 in 20 overs. Noor Ahmad was the best bowler for Texas, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs.

In the chase, Texas Super Kings fought hard but finished at 190/4, falling short by 10 runs. The Unicorns won and secured their place in the final. 

10. Faf du Plessis: 100 (58)

However, Washington Freedom chased the target and won the match. Even though du Plessis scored a century, his team did not win. His innings was still a highlight of the game.
