Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Jofra Archer on the second day of the Lord’s Test, and it was his fifth wicket in the match. Bumrah took his 15th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. It was his fifth five-wicket haul against England.

It was also his first five-wicket haul at Lord’s and took his name to the Honours Boards. Bumrah is the 15th Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul at Lord’s. It was Bumrah’s 47th wicket in England. Since his debut, no other bowler has picked more wickets in England than him.
Bumrah Took His Second Five-wicket Haul in the Series
In the first Test of the series, Bumrah took a five-wicket haul in the first innings. He missed the second Test of the series at Edgbaston and took another five-wicket haul here at Lord’s. Since 2018, no bowler has taken more five-wicket hauls than Bumrah in England.
England finished the first day of the Lord’s Test with 251 runs for the loss of four wickets. Joe Root was unbeaten on 99 runs and was looking towards his 37th century. His century came on the very first delivery of the second day as he hit Bumrah for a four. With this century, Root has gone past Rahul Dravid and Steve Smith’s tally of Test centuries. He has now scored the fifth-most number of half-centuries in Test cricket.
Bumrah took the wicket of Ben Stokes in the third over of the day, and he made 44 runs off 110 deliveries. In his next over, Bumrah dismissed Root for the 11th time in Test cricket. Bumrah took the wicket of Chris Woakes on the next delivery and pushed England to the backfoot.

However, an 84-run partnership for the 8th wicket between Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse meant England was again back in the game. Both players scored a half-century each before getting dismissed. Mohammed Siraj took the wicket of Smith, and he made 51 runs off 56 deliveries.
Archer was the next man to walk back to the pavilion and gave Bumrah his five-wicket haul. Siraj struck again in the 113th over and dismissed Carse for 56 runs off 83 deliveries.
