Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the ongoing series between England and India. He sustained a fracture to a finger on his left hand in the third Test during the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja hit a straight drive off the fifth delivery of the 78th over, and it hit Bashir on his left hand.

He remained out of the field for the remaining part of India’s innings. During the second innings, Bashir bowled 5.5 overs and took the important wicket of Mohammed Siraj, which helped England win the game. Immediately after the game, it was announced that Bashir had been ruled out of the series.

England Announces Their Squad For the Fourth Test

On Tuesday, July 15, England announced their squad for the fourth Test that will start on Wednesday, July 23. England has recalled Liam Dawson in the squad to replace Bashir. Dawson made his Test debut in 2016 and played his last Test in July 2017.

Liam Dawson deserves his call-up. He has been in outstanding form in the County Championship and consistently puts in strong performances for Hampshire,” Luke Wright, England Men’s National Selector, said on the inclusion of Dawson.

Sam Cook and Jamie Overton have been released from the squad, and they have joined their respective county teams to play in the County Championship.
