The Hundred 2025 is the fifth edition of the popular 100-ball cricket competition tournament. The tournament will begin on Tuesday, August 5.
The Hundred Men’s 2025 will feature eight city-based teams competing from August 5 to August 31. A total of 32 league matches will be played during this period.
Each team is scheduled to play eight matches in the group stage, with four games at home and four matches away. It means each team will play only one match against every other team, plus one additional game against their closest regional squad.
After the group stage, only the top three teams will advance to the knockout phase. Table topper will directly play the final. The second and third-placed teams will play each other in the eliminator at The Oval, London. The winner of that contest will then challenge the top-ranked team in the grand final at Lord’s to decide the champion of The Hundreds 2025.

Overview of The Hundred 2025: Men’s Teams & Captains
So far, only 3 teams have declared their captain. Liam Livingston will lead the Birmingham Phoenix, while Kane Williamson will be the captain of the London Spirit. All teams feature a combination of domestic and international players.

Manchester Originals have a powerful batting team. We know players like Jos Buttler, Heinrich Klaasen, Rachin Ravindra, and Phil Salt can win any match single-handedly. Consider that if they play in a single game for a team, they can easily dismantle a bowling lineup. Their batting makes them early favourites to win the tournament.
Oval Invincibles have a team that looks balanced. Rashid Khan, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, and Tom Curran can help with both bat and ball. This makes this team strong in the batting and bowling areas.
Southern Brave also has a powerful core with Jason Roy, Jofra Archer, and Chris Jordan. If these players perform well, the team can win many matches.
On the other hand, Northern Superchargers have a combination of experienced and young players. With David Miller, Dawid Malan, Harry Brook, and Adil Rashid, they can be a tough team to beat.
The London Spirit boasts a strong batting lineup featuring Kane Williamson, Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, and David Warner. They will try to lead the team with good starts and smart play. Birmingham Phoenix will count on Liam Livingstone, Trent Boult, and Tim Southee. These players bring power and experience to the team.
Welsh Fire also has big names. Steve Smith, Jonny Bairstow, and Chris Woakes can help the team do well, and with wildcard picks for The Hundred 2025 coming into play, Mike Hussey’s coaching could make them a real surprise package.
Conclusion: 8 Teams Will Participate in the Hundred
Manchester Originals is the strongest batting team on paper, boasting explosive batters such as Rachin Ravindra, Jos Buttler, Heinrich Klaasen, and Phil Salt.
On the other hand, Oval Invincibles will also pose a serious challenge with the likes of Rasid Khan, Sam Curran, and Will Jacks. With different teams having star players, early wins and match-winning performances will make teams early favourites for the 2025 title.
