The Hundred Women’s 2025 will be the 5th edition of the innovative 100-ball cricket tournament. It is managed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This year, it will start on August 5, as the London Spirit play against the Oval Invincibles. It has eight city-based teams, each with 15 players.

The tournament runs alongside a parallel The Hundred Men’s competition. All women’s matches will take place on the same day and the same ground as the men’s games.

Like the Men’s format, it has the same playing group and knockout game format. Each team will play four home and four away matches. They will play only one match against every team, except for two games with the closest team. As all franchises have announced their squad, get all the information about them in this blog:

The Oval Invincibles has a powerful batting lineup featuring stars like Meg Lanning, Alice Capsey, Marizanne Kapp, and Amanda-Jade Wellington. They are not only strong in batting; Paige Scholfield and Megan Schutt will lead their bowling department.

Southern Brave also appears strong on paper, boasting experienced players such as Laura Wolvaardt, Danni Wyatt, and Chloe Tryon. Their depth and experience can help them dominate in close matches.

Northern Superchargers also have big names such as Phoebe Litchfield, Annabel Sutherland, and Georgia Wareham. Wareham and Sutherland have bowling ability. Under the guidance of Lisa Kightley, this team looks lethal in all departments.

Manchester Originals will rely on the brilliance of Amelia Kerr, Beth Mooney, Deandra Dottin, and Sophie Ecclestone. Four veteran match-winners can turn any game in their favour.

Welsh Fire and Trent Rockets also boast match-winning players such as Hayley Matthews, Tammy Beaumont, Ashleigh Gardner, and Natalie Sciver-Brunt, making them formidable opponents.

While every team has a good mix of talent, Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave appear to be the most complete sides on paper. Their balanced lineups, experienced players, and past performances give them a strong chance to lift the 2025 title.

Conclusion: The Hundred Women Will Feature 8 Teams

The Hundred Women’s 2025 has strong teams, but Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave look the best on paper. They all have a good mix of top players and all-arounder talent.

Manchester Originals, Welsh Fire, and Trent Rockets also have players who can win matches. All teams will try their best, but early wins and teamwork will matter most.
