Australia had to chase a target of 339 runs to win the match. Tony Mann came in to bat in number three place and scored 105 runs off 165 deliveries. Australia reached the target of 339 runs in 87.2 overs with two wickets in hand. Tony was only the second nightwatchman to score a century in a Test match.
4. Syed Kirmani (101* vs Australia)
In the sixth Test match of the Australia tour of India in 1979, India won the toss and elected to bat. Syed Kirmani batted in the number five position and remained unbeaten on 101 runs off 206 deliveries. Sunil Gavaskar also scored a century, and India declared their innings on 458 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Australia managed just 160 runs in the first innings and was asked to follow on. In the second innings, Australia was bundled out for 198 runs and lost the match by an innings and 100 runs.
5. Nasim-ul-Ghani (101 vs England)
