The Indian cricket team has announced the squad for the upcoming home Women’s World Cup 2025. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the side, while Smriti Mandhana is still the vice-captain of the team.

Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, and Jemimah Rodrigues are the three batters in the squad. The two wicketkeepers in the squad are Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia. Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, and Sneh Rana are four all-rounders in the squad.
The bowling attack contains the names of N Shree Charani, Renuka Thakur, and Kranti Gaud. The team has mentioned six standby players for the World Cup and they are – Tejal Hasnabis, Prema Rawat, Priya Mishra, Uma Chetry, Minnu Mani, and Sayali Satghare.
Before the ODI World Cup, India will play a three-match ODI series against Australia in Australia. The squad for the same was also announced today. Amanjot Kaur has not been named in the squad but has been picked in the squad for the World Cup.
Renuka Thakur, who last played in the WPL, has been out of the side due to a stress fracture. She has completely recovered from the same and has been named in both the ODI series against Australia and the World Cup. Opener Shafali Verma, who is playing for India A against Australia A, has not been picked in the side. The right-handed batter last played an ODI game for India in October last year.
The ODI World Cup is scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The two hosts will play the opening game of the tournament on Tuesday, September 30. India’s second game against Pakistan will be played in Colombo. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday, November 2.
