The Women’s National Cricket League 2025 is scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 24. It is a List A domestic women’s tournament in Australia. A total of seven teams take part in the competition. These seven teams are Queensland Fire, South Australia Women, New South Wales Breakers, ACT Meteors, Victoria Women, Tasmanian Tigers Women, and Western Australia Women.

Each team will face the other six teams twice in the tournament. A total of 42 league stage matches will be played, and the top two teams at the end of the group stage will face each other in the final. The final will be played on Sunday, March 21. The tournament will be played in two phases. The first phase will be completed on Tuesday, October 14, with the match between Queensland Fire and the ACT Meteors. A total of 12 games will be played in the first phase. The second phase will start after the completion of the Women’s Big Bash League, and the first match will be played on Sunday, January 4, between Tasmania Tigers Women and Queensland Fire.
Women’s National Cricket League 2025: Tournament Details
The 2025-26 edition of the Women’s National Cricket League will be the 30th edition of the tournament. The tournament started in 1996-97, and a total of five teams participated in the first season of the competition. Tasmania Tigers made their debut during the 2010-11 edition, while ACT Meteors were included in the tournament during the 2009–10 edition.

ACT Meteors are the only team that has yet to win the competition. They are yet to qualify for the final as well. New South Wales Breakers are the most successful team in the competition and have won the tournament on 21 occasions. They have finished as the runner-ups four times. Tasmania Tigers have won the tournament thrice, while Victoria Women have won twice. Queensland Fire, South Australia Women, and Western Australia Women have won once each.
Until the 2006-07 season, the top two teams competed in a best-of-three finals series to determine the champions. Since the 2007–08 season, the final has been reduced to a single game.
Last season, New South Wales Breakers defeated Queensland Fire in the final by 21 runs after posting a total of 215 runs on the board. Anika Learoyd made 80 runs off 110 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award. Tahlia Wilson finished as the leading run-scorer and won the Player of the Year award.
