Mithun Manhas, the former Delhi captain, was elected unopposed as the president of the BCCI during the AGM. Manhas is the 37th president of the BCCI and took over from Roger Binny. Binny was elected the president of the BCCI in October 2022.

There have been a number of changes during this AGM. Former Indian bowlers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha have been appointed to the senior men’s selection panel. They have replaced S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee. Sharath has been reappointed as the junior men’s selection panel chairman and has replaced V.S. Thilak Naidu.

Former Indian cricketer Amita Sharma has been appointed as the new chairperson of the senior women’s selection panel. Sulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma and Sravanthi Naidu are three other new senior women selectors.

Devajit Saikia, who was appointed the secretary in January this year, has retained his post. Rajiv Shukla has also retained his post as vice-president. A. Raghuram Bhat, a former Test cricketer, was elected as the treasurer. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, who was the treasurer in BCCI, has been reassigned to joint-secretary, replacing Rohan Dessai.

Jaydev Shah has been elected as a councillor in the BCCI apex council. Shah holds the record of captaining the most matches in the Ranji Trophy. Arun Singh Dhumal and Khairul Jamal Majumdar have retained their place as the IPL Governing Council chairman and a governing council member, respectively.

Manhas was born on October 12, 1979, in Bhalessa, Jammu and Kashmir. He made his first-class debut for Delhi in 1998 and played for the team till 2015. Manhas was a middle-order batter for Delhi. There was no vacancy in the Indian middle order during the time Manhas was playing domestic cricket, and hence, he never got a chance to represent India.

Manhas has captained the Delhi side in domestic cricket for most of the new millennium. He was a part of the side that won the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy after a gap of 16 years. Manhas was the captain of Delhi during the group stage, and Gautam Gambhir led the side in the semi-final and final. 

In September 2015, Manhas switched to play for Jammu and Kashmir for the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy. He played his last domestic game in February 2017.

Manhas played for the Delhi Capitals (formerly known as Delhi Daredevils) from 2008 to 2010. He was a part of the Pune Warriors India from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he went on to play for the Chennai Super Kings. He featured in a total of 55 matches in the IPL and scored 514 runs at an average of 22.34. Manhas was a part of the CSK squad that won the Champions Trophy in 2014.

After retiring from domestic cricket, Manhas switched to a coaching role. He was appointed assistant coach of the Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab) in the IPL. From 2017 to 2019, Manhas was the batting consultant of the Bangladesh Under-19 team. He was the assistant coach of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2019. In 2022, Manhas was appointed assistant coach of the Gujarat Titans.
