The proposed trade between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals is moving forward, but it isn’t complete yet. Both teams have given the green light in principle. The three players involved, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran and Sanju Samson, have reportedly signed their consent.

Still, formal approval by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is needed, and as of November 10 evening, it hasn’t been officially logged.
“Consent has been obtained from all three players and the Expression of Interest process has been initiated. All three have signed on the dotted line, but the process will take some time to culminate,” a franchise official said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
“Ravindra Jadeja should be retained again” – Suresh Raina
There’s been a mixed reaction to the deal, some believe giving up a player like Jadeja is risky. Former CSK batter Suresh Raina even urged CSK not to let Jadeja go, calling him “a gun player” for the team. Raina emphasized that Jadeja is a key asset to CSK and urged the franchise not to trade him.

“Ravindra Jadeja should be retained again. He is a gun player for Chennai Super Kings. He has done really, really well for the team over the years, so ‘Sir Ravindra Jadeja’ has to be there,” Raina said as reported by Cricbuzz.
Both Jadeja and Samson were retained for INR 18 crore each. But in this trade, Chennai Super Kings are offering two players, Jadeja and Curran (who was bought for ₹2.4 crore in the last mega auction), in exchange for Samson.
According to Cricbuzz’s report, Rajasthan Royals first wanted Dewald Brevis in the deal. When CSK said no, they added Curran to the offer instead.
The formal trade process under IPL rules requires submitting the expression of interest (EOI), getting consent, and then official approval. It usually taking about 48 hours once the paperwork is filed. Now, it’s just a matter of time until BCCI processes the documents and makes the swap official.
