The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is India’s premier domestic Twenty20 (T20) tournament, played annually to showcase the country’s top short-format talent. It began in the 2006–07 season as the Inter-State T20 Championship, with the BCCI launching the competition to promote T20 cricket across domestic teams.

Except for the 2016–17 Inter-Zonal season, the tournament has consistently featured the same teams that compete in the Ranji Trophy, making it a crucial platform for emerging and established players.

Over the years, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has produced several memorable champions. Tamil Nadu won the inaugural edition and remains the most successful team, while the 2025/26 season added a new name to the winners’ list as Jharkhand lifted their maiden title under Ishan Kishan.

This blog provides a complete overview of all Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy winners across seasons.
