Sheffield Shield 2025-26 Points Distribution
In the Sheffield Shield 2025-26, teams will earn points based on match results and bonus points from the first innings of each match.

- The winning team will receive 6 points, and the losing team will not receive any points.
- If a match produces no result or ends in a draw, both participating teams will receive 1 point.
- Each team will get 0.01 bonus points for every run scored above 200 in the 1st 100 overs of the 1st inning.
- On the other hand, the bowling team will also receive 0.1 bonus points for every wicket taken in the 1st 100 overs of the opponent’s 1st inning.
- If teams are level on total points and have an equal NRR at the end of the group stage, the quotient (the team’s batting average divided by its bowling average) is used to determine the team’s position. The team with the higher quotient will qualify for the playoffs.
