The Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 took place from November 17 to December 13, 2025, at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, featuring eight teams competing across 32 matches for the championship.

The season concluded with Lumbini Lions emerging as NPL 2025 champions, after defeating Sudur Paschim Royals by 6 wickets in the final on December 13. In a low-scoring title clash, the Royals were dismissed for 85 in 19.1 overs, before the Lions produced a clinical chase, reaching 86/4 in just 9 overs to cap off a dominant playoff run and secure their maiden league title.

With the league now wrapped up, NPL 2025 will be remembered for its exciting matches, emerging talent, and Lumbini Lions’ impressive run to the title, further strengthening Nepal’s growing domestic T20 structure.

Nepal Premier League Points System: Teams earn two points for winning a match. A tied match awards one point to each side. Abandoned or washed-out fixtures give both teams one point. Losing teams receive zero points.

The format mirrors other T20 leagues worldwide. Eight franchises compete in a single round-robin stage where each team plays seven matches. The top four teams on the points table advance to the playoffs.

The playoff structure follows Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final. Sudurpaschim Royals topped the 2024 table with 12 points from seven matches but lost the final to Janakpur Bolts, who finished second with 10 points.

When teams finish level on points, net run rate determines the ranking. This calculation subtracts the average runs conceded per over from the average runs scored per over throughout the tournament.

The Nepal Premier League marks a shift for Nepal cricket with proper stadium infrastructure. Minister Kulman Ghising inaugurated the new floodlights on November 16, one day before the season began.

The ground now seats 10,000 spectators on concrete parapets instead of the grassy slopes from 2024. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli directed the completion of these upgrades within 300 days after taking office in July 2024.

The final will be played on December 13 at 3:30 PM local time. Star Sports broadcasts all matches across India while FanCode handles digital streaming through subscription passes.
