The Abu Dhabi T10 League was the first-ever T10 cricket tournament. At the launch, the tournament was called the T10 League, and the name was later changed to Abu Dhabi T10 in 2019. The inaugural edition of the tournament was played in 2017.
The league has received approval from the Emirates Cricket Board and was officially sanctioned by the ICC in 2018. The matches in the tournament are 10-overs-a-side. In the first edition, six teams took part in the tournament.
The number of teams was increased to eight in 2018 and remained the same for the next two editions. During the 2012-22 edition, the number of teams was once again decreased to six. It was increased to eight in 2022 and to 10 in 2024.
The upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League is scheduled to start on Tuesday, November 18. A total of eight teams will once again participate in the competition. Five new teams have been introduced in this edition.

1. 2017 – Kerala Kings
Kerala Kings faced Punjabi Legends in the final of the first-ever edition of the league. The Kings won the toss and elected to bowl. Luke Ronchi led the Legends to a total of 120 runs for the loss of three wickets with his knock of 70 runs off 34 deliveries.
Paul Stirling (52 runs off 23 deliveries) and Eoin Morgan added 113 runs for the second wicket and led the Kings to the title. The Kings chased down the target of 121 runs in eight overs with eight wickets in hand.
2. 2018 – Northern Warriors
Northern Warriors made their debut in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in 2018 and went on to win the tournament. They faced the Pakhtoons in the final on December 2, 2018. Pakhtoons won the toss and elected to bowl. Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 61 runs off 25 deliveries. Andre Russell contributed 38 runs off 12 deliveries. The Warriors made 140 runs for the loss of three wickets.
The Pakhtoons made 118 runs for the loss of seven wickets and lost the match by 22 runs. Hardus Viljoen took two wickets for 24 runs. Powell won the Player of the Match award, while Viljoen was adjudged Player of the Tournament due to being the leading wicket-taker.
3. 2019 – Maratha Arabians
Maratha Arabians finished in first place in 2019 with four wins in six games. Deccan Gladiators defeated Bangla Tigers in the eliminator and the Qalandars in the second qualifier to make it to the final. However, they couldn’t make it three in a row as the Arabians won the final. The Gladiators posted a total of 87 runs for the loss of eight wickets at the end of 10 overs.
Chadwick Walton scored 51 runs off 26 deliveries and helped the team chase down the target of 88 runs in 7.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Walton won the Player of the Match award.
4. 2021 – Northern Warriors
Northern Warriors became the first two-time champions in 2021. They faced the Delhi Bulls in the final and elected to bowl after winning the toss. The Bulls scored 81 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Maheesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers and took three wickets for 14 runs.
A collective batting effort helped the Warriors reach the target in 8.2 overs. The Warriors won the match by eight wickets. Theekshana won the Player of the Match award.
5. 2021-22 – Deccan Gladiators
Deccan Gladiators qualified for the final for the first time since 2019, when they finished as runners-up. They took on the Delhi Bulls and were asked to bat. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (59 off 28) and Andre Russell (90 off 32) helped the Gladiators post a total of 159 runs without losing any wickets.
The Bulls scored 103 runs for the loss of seven wickets, and the Gladiators won the match by 56 runs. Odean Smith, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Tymal Mills took two wickets each. Russell won the Player of the Match award.
6. 2022 – Deccan Gladiators
The Gladiators became the second team to win the tournament twice in 2022. They faced the New York Strikers in the final and batted first. The Gladiators scored 128 runs for the loss of four wickets. David Wiese was the highest scorer and made 43 runs off 18 deliveries.
The Strikers, in reply, scored 91 runs for the loss of five wickets. The Gladiators won the match by 37 runs. Wiese won the Player of the Match award. Nicholas Pooran scored 345 runs and won the Player of the Tournament award.
7. 2023 – New York Strikers
New York Strikers qualified for the final for the second time and faced the Gladiators once again. The Strikers once again won the toss and elected to bowl. Gladiators scored 91 runs for the loss of five wickets. Russell was the highest scorer and made 30 runs off 18 deliveries. Sunil Narine took two wickets for six runs in two overs for the Strikers.
Asif Ali made 48 runs off 25 deliveries and helped the Strikers reach the target of 92 runs in 9.2 overs. The Strikers won the match by seven wickets. Asif won the Player of the Match award.
8. 2024 – Deccan Gladiators
The Gladiators became the first team to win the tournament three times. They qualified for the final for the fifth time in the last six seasons. The Gladiators faced Morrisville Samp Army in the final this time and elected to bowl after winning the toss.
The Samp Army scored 104 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Richard Gleeson took two wickets for 16 runs in two overs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore remained unbeaten on 56 runs off 21 deliveries, and the Gladiators won the match by eight wickets.
