Qualification Scenarios: Who Needs What To Reach The Semi-Finals?

The path to the semi-finals is simple but challenging. Each team will play three matches in their group.

  • Teams get two points for every win and zero points for a loss. The top two teams from each group will move forward to the semi-finals.
  • If two teams finish with the same points, the Net Run Rate will decide which team goes through.
  • The Net Run Rate shows how fast a team scores runs compared to how many runs they give away. A higher Net Run Rate is better.

Group A has India and Pakistan, both strong teams with good records in this tournament. They will face two qualifying teams.

India has won this trophy seven times, making them the most successful team in history. Pakistan also has a strong youth cricket program.

Group B includes Bangladesh, the current champions who won the 2024 edition. They will compete against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and one qualifying team.

Bangladesh beat India by 59 runs in last year’s final and will try to defend their title.

The semi-finals will be played on December 19, 2025. The winner of Group A will play the second-place team from Group B.

The winner of Group B will face the second-place team from Group A. This setup rewards teams that finish first in their group with what might be an easier semi-final match.
