The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 will be the 12th edition of Bangladesh’s premier T20 cricket tournament. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) organized it from December 19, 2025, to January 16, 2026, taking into account national elections and the ICC T20I World Cup in February 2026.
A total of 6 franchises will feature this season, a shift from seven in prior years:
- Dhaka Capitals
- Rangpur Riders
- Chattogram Royals
- Rajshahi Warriors
- Noakhali Express
- Sylhet Titans
BPL 2025-26 cut teams to 6 after match-fixing scandals in 2024-25 exposed 36 shady games with weird batting and bowling. 10-12 players, including two Bangladesh stars from Durbar Rajshahi and Sylhet Strikers, plus officials, were banned by the BCB. Past woes, such as unpaid overseas players (some with just 25% fees) and bounced cheques, fueled the chaos, prompting management to take tough decisions.
Fortune Barishal, who is a part of this edition, won the 2025 title with a thrilling chase in the final against Chittagong Kings at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
Bangladesh Premier League 2025-26 – Match Schedule
The league will start on December 26 with the match between Sylhet Titans and Rajshahi Warriors at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The other 29 group stage matches will follow it. After the conclusion of the group stage, there will be knock-out games similar to IPL.
