The CSA T20 Knock Out Competition 2025 started on Friday, October 25. A total of seven teams are participating in the tournament. Each team will face the other six teams once in the league phase. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The final will be played on Sunday, November 23. A total of seven venues will host 25 matches of the tournament. These seven venues are – Buffalo Park in East London, Cricket Club Ground in Polokwane, Diamond Oval in Kimberley, Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn, Uplands College in White River, and Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
The seven teams are – Border, Easterns, KwaZulu-Natal (Inland), Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and South Western Districts. KwaZulu-Natal (Inland) are the defending champion and defeated Easterns by seven wickets. They chased down the target of 130 runs in 18.2 overs. Cameron Dean Shekleton made 54 runs off 43 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award.
CSA T20 Knock Out Competition 2025: Tournament Details
The CSA T20 Knock-Out Competition is a provincial-level T20 tournament introduced in 2021–22 as part of CSA’s restructured domestic cricket system. It replaced the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, which began in the 2011–12 season. From 2014-15 until 2015-16, it was called the CSA Provincial T20 Challenge. The competition then went into a hiatus (for the provincial format) and was re-launched as the “CSA Provincial T20 Cup” in the 2019-20 season.
The first edition of the tournament in 2021-22 featured a total of 16 teams. The number of teams was reduced to eight during the 2022-23 season. Knights won the inaugural edition after defeating the Knights in the final. South Africa Under-19 won the 2022-23 season after defeating Northern Cape in the final. The Northern Cape qualified for the final once again in the 2023-24 season but lost to Limpopo.
