South African young talent Deward Brevis hit the 2nd fastest T20I century for South Africa. Known as Baby AB, the 22-year-old generational talent scored his maiden century in 2nd T20I game against Australia in Darwin. He came out batting when SA lost its 3 wickets, both openers inside the 5 overs with a score of 44. 

Brevis came out for bat in his mood and smashed a six and four in his first 6 balls. In the same over, Lhuan-dre Pretorius got out, but it didn’t stop Brewis. He continued his assault and scored a half-century in 25 balls with a half-dozen runs.

Brevis scored his first 50 runs in 25 balls and took only the next 16 more balls to hit an incredible century in 41 balls.

He also became the 3rd youngest player to score a half-century for South Africa. He took 22 years and 105 days to reach his maiden half-century. Only Lhuan-dre Pretorius ( 19 years and 121 days) and Tristan Stubbs ( 21 years and 347 days) are ahead of him. 

Tristan Stubbs well supported him as they both added 126 runs for the 4th wicket. Brevis completed his well-deserved century by hitting 4 on Dwarshuis. 

He broke another record as he became the youngest South African to score a T20I century. He achieved this feat at the age of 22 years and 105 days. He is followed by Richard Levi (24 years and 36 days) and David Miller (28 years and 141 days).

Highest T20I Score For South Africa

Even after hitting a century, he didn’t let his wicket go and scored 126 runs as South Africa finished at 218/7. He was unbeaten at the score of 126, the highest score ever by a South African batter in T20 internationals.
