On the fourth day, India faced 17.4 overs from the English bowlers and lost four wickets for 58 runs. On the fifth day, India lost the wicket of Pant in the 21st over and he scored nine runs off 12 deliveries. India lost the wickets of Rahul and Sundar quickly. Reddy and Jadeja joined each other in the middle and had a partnership of 40 runs. Reddy was dismissed just before the lunch and made 13 runs off 53 deliveries. Jasprit Bumrah joined Jadeja in the middle.
Bumrah and Jadeja had a partnership of 35 runs for the ninth wicket. Post this, Mohammed Siraj came out to save the day for India. Jadeja scored a half-century in the 68th over, his highest score in the fourth innings. Siraj was dismissed for four runs in the 75th over and India lost the match by 22 runs.
