The Hallyburton Johnstone Shield 2025-26 is New Zealand’s main women’s one-day cricket tournament. It is played in the 50-over format and runs from 15 November 2025 to 21 February 2026. Six teams are taking part in this tournament:

  • Auckland Hearts
  • Canterbury Magicians
  • Central Hinds
  • Northern Districts
  • Otago Sparks
  • Wellington Blaze

Each team will play 10 matches in a double-round-robin format, and the top two teams will face off in the final. Otago Sparks will enter this season as the defending champions.

The competition has a long history, dating back to 1935–36, when it was first established as a first-class challenge trophy. Over the years, it changed into a one-day event and is now an essential part of New Zealand’s women’s cricket season.
