1. Nellai Royal Kings – 236/2 vs Warriors (15 July 2022, Coimbatore)
The Nellai Royal Kings delivered a batting masterclass to post the highest-ever total in TNPL history by smashing 236/2 in their 20 overs against the Warriors at Coimbatore.

The innings was a festival of boundaries right from the start. Openers set the tone with a brisk partnership, taking full advantage of the fielding restrictions during the powerplay.
The top order showed no mercy, punishing anything short or wide, and rotating the strike smartly in between the big hits. Sanjay Yadav scored 103* runs off 55 balls, including 6 fours and 9 sixes with a strike rate of 187.27, and got the support of Baba Aparajith (92* runs off 48 balls, including 5 fours and 8 sixes)
In the response RTW could reach only 170 runs where Murli Vijay hit impressive 121 runs. By the end, the scoreboard read a daunting 236/2, leaving the opposition shell-shocked. The chase never really got going for the Warriors, and Nellai cruised to a comfortable win by 66 runs.
2. Chepauk Super Gillies – 217/5 vs Spartans (13 June 2023, Coimbatore)
The team started strong with a big 91-run partnership between Pradosh Ranjan Paul and captain Narayan Jagadeesan. Paul was the star of the match. He made 88 runs from 55 balls with 12 fours and 1 six, and won the Player of the Match award for his innovative and stylish batting. Jagadeesan also played well, scoring 35 runs off 27 balls, helping the team maintain a high run rate.

After the openers got out, the middle-order batsmen continued the good work. Baba Aparajith scored 29 runs from 19 balls, and Sanjay Yadav smashed 31 runs in just 12 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. In the final over, bowled by Spartans captain Abhishek Tanwar, Chepauk added 26 runs thanks to some no-balls and wides, with Yadav taking full advantage.
Among the Spartans’ bowlers, Sunny Sandhu did the best, taking 2 wickets for 32 runs. But overall, their bowlers couldn’t stop the flow of runs.
When the Spartans came out to bat, they could only manage 165/9 in 20 overs. Chepauk Super Gillies won the match by 52 runs.
3. Albert TUTI Patriots – 215/2 vs Chepauk Super Gillies (18 September 2016, Chennai)
The 2016 TNPL season witnessed one of its earliest and most dominant batting displays when the then Tuti Patriots (now Lyca Kovai Kings) scored a formidable 215/2 against Chepauk Super Gillies at Chennai.

The innings was anchored by a sensational knock from opener Abhinav Mukund, who smashed 82 runs off just 52 balls. He was ably supported by Kaushik Gandhi, who contributed a rapid 59, while Dinesh Kartik added a brisk 55 to keep
After Mukund’s dismissal, Gandhi and the middle order capitalized on the platform, accelerating seamlessly in the final five overs and hammering the Chepauk bowlers to all parts of the ground. The Super Gillies’ attack, with experienced campaigners like R Alexander and M Ashwin, struggled to stem the flow of runs, as the Patriots finished with just two wickets down.
Chasing 216, Chepauk Super Gillies faltered under scoreboard pressure and were bowled out for 93. The Tuti Patriots secured a massive 122-run victory, which remains the largest margin in TNPL finals history.
4. Chepauk Super Gillies – 212/7 vs Nellai Royal Kings (9 June 2025, Coimbatore)
On June 9, 2025, in Coimbatore, the Chepauk Super Gillies delivered a strong performance against the Nellai Royal Kings, scoring a big total of 212/7 in 20 overs.

The match started with K Aashiq playing a smooth innings. He scored 54 runs off 38 balls and provided Chepauk a fast start. Captain Baba Aparajith kept the momentum going with a solid 41 from 29 balls, even as some wickets fell around him.
The real fireworks came in the final overs. Vijay Shankar played a powerful knock, scoring 47 not out from 24 balls (2 fours, 4 sixes), while Swapnil Singh exploded with 45 runs from just 14 balls, including 5 sixes and 2 fours. Their quick runs in the last five overs added over 60 runs, pushing the team total past 200.
For Nellai, Valliappan Yudheeswaran was the best bowler, taking 3 wickets for 37 runs. Sonu Yadav and Sachin Rathi also took one wicket each but found it hard to stop the runs.
In reply, Nellai Royal Kings could only score 171/9 in their 20 overs. Chepauk’s bowlers were sharp and kept control throughout the innings. Swapnil Singh was named Player of the Match for his excellent all-round performance: 45 runs and 2 wickets for 26 runs.
Chepauk Super Gillies won by 41 runs, showing once again their strong batting and bowling depth.

5. Nellai Royal Kings – 211/6 vs Madurai Panthers (8 July 2023, Salem)
In the Eliminator of TNPL 2023 at Salem, Nellai Royal Kings showed their batting strength by scoring a massive 211/6 against Siechem Madurai Panthers.

Their innings didn’t start well, as Laxmesha Suryaprakash got out for a duck in the first over. But Arun Karthik hit a quick 18 off 12 balls and settled things down.
Then came G Ajitesh, who gave the team early momentum with a solid 50 off 30 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six.
The real hero of the innings was Nidhish Rajagopal. He scored a brilliant 76 runs from 50 balls, hitting 2 fours and 6 sixes. He maintained a high run rate in the middle overs and controlled the innings calmly.
In the final overs, Rithik Easwaran played a blazing cameo — 29 runs off just 10 balls, and Sonu Yadav added a quick 17. Even after losing a few wickets at the end, Nellai crossed the 200-run mark with ease.
For Madurai, P Saravanan (1/29) and Gurjapneet Singh (2/36) were the only bowlers to make an impact.
While chasing, Madurai Panthers gave a tough fight and scored 207/4 in 20 overs. But they fell just 4 runs short, and Nellai won a thrilling match. It was a match full of big hits and great drama. Rajagopal’s incredible and powerful innings were the game-changer in this knockout clash.
6. Nellai Royal Kings – 209/3 vs Madurai Panthers (5 July 2022, Dindigul)
On July 5, 2022, at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul, Nellai Royal Kings put up a strong show with the bat, scoring 209/3 against Siechem Madurai Panthers.

After choosing to bat first, Nellai made a solid start. They scored 61 runs in the powerplay, losing just one wicket. Laxmesha Suryaprakash set the stage with a calm 32 runs at the top.
Then came the fireworks.
Sanjay Yadav smashed an unbeaten 70 off 42 balls, hitting 4 fours and 6 sixes. He was in top form and didn’t let the scoring slow down. He was well supported by B Indrajith, who scored a fast 34 off just 18 balls*, with 6 fours. Together, they added 100 runs in only 46 balls.
Madurai’s bowlers found it challenging. Davidson gave away 48 runs, and Neranjan went for 41. Both took a wicket each.
In reply, Madurai Panthers fought back hard. KB Arun Karthik played an amazing inning of 106 runs off 57 balls, with 12 fours and 5 sixes. But he got little support from the other end.
NS Harish (3/30) and K Easwaran (2/31) kept things tight and took key wickets. Madurai could only score 183/8 in their 20 overs. Nellai Royal Kings won by 26 runs, showing once again why they were one of the strongest batting teams in TNPL 2022.
7. Lyca Kovai Kings – 209/8 vs Nellai Royal Kings (29 July 2022, Coimbatore)
On July 29, 2022, fans witnessed one of the most exciting matches in TNPL history. Lyca Kovai Kings chased down a big total of 209 to beat Nellai Royal Kings by 2 wickets with no balls left in Qualifier 2 at Coimbatore.

The chase started well. V Ganga Sridhar Raju (28 off 24) and J Suresh Kumar (21 off 12) gave a quick start. Kovai reached 55 runs in the powerplay.
Then came the key moment when Sai Sudharsan (53 off 33) and captain Shahrukh Khan (58 off 24)* added a game-changing 63 runs in just 19 balls. Their partnership gave Kovai a big boost.
In the final over, Kovai needed 16 runs to win.
Shah Rukh Khan showed nerves of steel. He hit a four, a six, and another boundary off Sri Neranjan. Finally, Ajith Ram scored the winning run off the last ball.
Earlier, Nellai had posted 208/6. Sanjay Yadav smashed 55 off 26 balls, and Baba Aparajith added a steady 44 off 33. But their bowlers couldn’t stop the chase.
Karthick Manikandan (3/46) was Nellai’s best bowler. K Easwaran and Aparajith took two wickets each.
Shah Rukh Khan was named Player of the Match. His fearless batting helped Kovai reach the final and gave fans a match to remember.
8. Lyca Kovai Kings – 208/5 vs Madurai Panthers (2 July 2023, Tirunelveli)
On July 2, 2023, at Tirunelveli, Lyca Kovai Kings put on a powerful batting show to score 208/5 in their 20 overs against Siechem Madurai Panthers.

After being asked to bat first, J Suresh Kumar gave Kovai a dream start. He smashed a quick 64 runs off just 29 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. His aggressive hitting gave Kovai significant momentum early on.
He was well supported by B Sachin, who scored a steady 67 from 51 balls. Together, they helped the team reach 100 runs in just 10 overs.
Then came Captain Shahrukh Khan, who played a blazing knock. He hit 53 off just 23 balls, with 6 fours and 3 sixes, keeping the scoreboard ticking. The rest of the middle order also chipped in, and Kovai added over 60 runs in the last five overs, finishing with a massive total of 208/5.
For Madurai, P Saravanan (2/33) and M Ashwin (1/34) took wickets, but they couldn’t stop the flow of runs.
Chasing 209, Madurai Panthers struggled. They were bowled out for 164 in 18 overs. Washington Sundar was the top scorer with 32 runs, but the rest couldn’t keep up.
Kovai Kings won the match easily by 44 runs, which proved once again why they’re one of the best batting teams in the tournament.
9. Nellai Royal Kings – 208/6 vs Lyca Kovai Kings (29 July 2022, Coimbatore)
In a high-pressure Qualifier 2 match of TNPL 2022 at Coimbatore, Nellai Royal Kings showed their strong batting power by scoring 208/6 in 20 overs against Lyca Kovai Kings.

The innings started well with N. Jagadeesan hitting a quick 35 off 22 balls. The real fireworks came from Sanjay Yadav and smashed 55 runs off just 26 balls with a blistering 7 sixes. Baba Aparajith kept the innings steady with 33 off 22, making sure the scoring rate stayed high. Later, L. Suryaprakash added a powerful 51 off 28 balls with some smart shots.
Even after losing a few wickets at the end, M. Shajahan and S. Ajith Ram helped Nellai finish strong, taking the total past 200. For Kovai, Abhishek Tanwar (2/41) and Suresh Kumar (2/28) took key wickets, but they couldn’t stop the run flow as Nellai targeted short boundaries.
But the chase was even more thrilling.
Lyca Kovai Kings came out firing. Captain Shahrukh Khan hit a blazing 58 off just 24 balls, while Sai Sudharsan added 51 off 31 balls. They kept the game alive until the very end.
Kovai needed runs off the final ball, and they got it! They ended at 209/8, winning by 2 wickets with no balls left. Even though Nellai Royal Kings lost, they once again proved they are one of the strongest batting sides in the league. The match showed why TNPL knockouts are full of drama and excitement.
10. Madurai Panthers – 207/4 vs Nellai Royal Kings (8 July 2023, Salem)
The Eliminator match of TNPL 2023 between Nellai Royal Kings and Siechem Madurai Panthers at Salem was a thrilling, high-scoring game that went down to the last over.

Nellai batted first and put up a big total of 211/6 in 20 overs. Nidhish Rajagopal led the way with a solid 76 runs off 50 balls, and G Ajitesh supported him with a quick 50. Their partnership built a strong platform. In the final overs, Rithik Easwaran hit a fiery 29 off just 10 balls, helping Nellai finish strong. Gurjapneet Singh was the best bowler for Madurai, taking 2 wickets.
Chasing 212, Madurai Panthers started well. Openers Suresh Lokeshwar (40 off 26) and V Aaditya (73 off 47) gave them hope, scoring quickly and keeping up with the run rate. Aaditya’s big hitting and Swapnil Singh’s quick 48 off 26 balls kept Madurai in the game.
With just 12 runs needed in the last over, the match became a nail-biter. But Nellai’s bowlers held their nerve and gave away only 7 runs, sealing a 4-run win.
Madurai finished at 207/4 so close, yet not enough. Nellai Royal Kings moved on to the next round. The match showed top-class batting and brilliant bowling under pressure, especially in the final overs.
It will be remembered as one of the most exciting games in TNPL history.
