The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier 2025 will start on Tuesday, September 9, in Fiji. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the global qualifiers. The global qualifiers will take place from January 12 to February 2. Bangladesh, Scotland, the United States, Nepal, and Thailand have already qualified for the global qualifiers. The tournament will have five more teams. Apart from the EAP Qualifier, two teams each will make it to the global qualifiers from the Europe Qualifier and the Africa Qualifier.

A total of eight teams are going to participate in the tournament this year. These teams have been divided into two groups containing four teams each. The top two teams from each group will make it to the semi-finals. The winners of the two semi-finals will make it to the final. The final is scheduled to be played on Monday, September 15.

A total of 20 matches will be played in the tournament. Two venues, Albert Park 1 and Albert Park 2 in Suva, will host all these matches.

In the last edition, a total of seven teams participated in the tournament. Vanuatu won all six games and qualified for the global qualifiers. This year, the addition of the Philippines has made this an eight-team tournament. The Philippines will play in an ICC event for the very first time. They have played a total of 27 T20I matches so far and have managed just four wins. 

Before the start of the tournament, Fiji will host Japan for a two-match T20I series. The two matches will be played on September 5 and 6 at the 

Albert Park Ground 1 in Suva. Fiji and Japan have played a total of two T20I matches against each other so far. Both these matches were played in the previous two editions of the Women’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier. Japan has won both these matches.
