On Saturday, July 26, Mohsin Naqvi, the Asian Cricket Council’s chairman, announced the schedule of the highly anticipated Asia Cup. Naqvi is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and took to X to announce the schedule.

“I am delighted to confirm the dates of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE. The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th. We look forward to a spectacular display of cricket. Details of the schedule will be out soon,” Naqvi posted.

India and Pakistan are in the same group and will play in the tournament for the first time on September 14. Both teams may face each other on three occasions in the tournament if they both advance to the final.

UAE Has Been Assigned the Hosting Rights for the Asia Cup 2025

India is the official host of the Asia Cup 2025; however, the tournament will be held in the UAE. Both India and Pakistan mutually agreed to play games against each other at neutral venues till 2027. This was the reason India played all their matches in the Champions Trophy 2025 in the UAE, including the final.

A total of 8 teams will participate in the tournament this year, and it will be played in T20 format. Apart from India and Pakistan, the six other teams are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. India and Pakistan are in Group A, along with the UAE and Oman. Group B has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
