The dates for the upcoming season were disclosed by Hemang Amin, CEO of the IPL, during the briefing on the IPL 2026 auction. The opening match of every season has mostly been played at the defending champion’s home venue in the past. However, it is still unclear whether RCB will play their home games at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The Karnataka Cabinet has given conditional approval to the KSCA to host IPL matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said the permission has been granted only if all safety and security rules are followed, to ensure Bengaluru’s image is protected.
