England has announced their playing 11 for the third Test against England. The only change in the playing 11 is the inclusion of Jofra Archer. Archer has replaced Josh Tongue in the playing 11. Tongue is the leading wicket-taker in the series with 11 wickets to his name at an average of 33.63.

Archer will make a comeback to the long form of the game after more than four years. The 30-year-old pacer last played a Test match against India in February 2021 in Ahmedabad.

Archer played in a County game for Sussex last month against Durham. He scored 31 runs with the bat and took one wicket for 32 runs. He played in the IPL as well for the Rajasthan Royals and took 11 wickets in 12 games at an average of 39.18.
Archer has played a total of two Test matches against India and has taken four wickets at an average of 30.50. Archer will be playing against India in England for the first time since making his debut.
Archer made his Test debut at Lord’s against Australia in 2019 and will play his first game at the venue since then on Thursday. He has played a total of 13 Test matches for England and has picked 42 wickets at an average of 31.04.
