Australia defeated the West Indies in the third T20I of the five-match series by six wickets. The team chased down the target of 215 runs in 16.1 overs. Tim David was the hero of the match for Australia and scored his maiden T20I century.

David scored 102 runs off 37 deliveries and scored the fastest century by an Australian batter in T20Is. It is the third-fastest century against a Test playing nation.
David Miller of South Africa holds the record for scoring the fastest century against a test playing country. He scored a 35-ball century against Bangladesh in October 2017. In December 2017, Rohit Sharma equalled Miller’s record against Sri Lanka.

In February this year, Abhishek Sharma took 37 deliveries to record a ton against England. Overall, Sahil Chauhan of Estonia holds the record of scoring the fastest century in T20Is. In June last year, Sahil took 27 deliveries to score a century.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 102 runs off 57 deliveries and led the West Indies to a total of 214 runs for the loss of four wickets. He became the fifth West Indian batter to score a century in T20Is. Brandon King also had a great outing with the bat and scored 62 runs off 36 deliveries. Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, and Mitchell Owen took one wicket each.

Australia scored 65 runs in the powerplay and lost three wickets. The fourth wicket fell on 87 runs in the ninth over. David and Mitchell Owen added 128 runs for the fifth wicket. David became the sixth Australian batter to score a century in T20Is. Own remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 16 deliveries. Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies and took two wickets for 39 runs in 3.1 overs.
