The mini auction for IPL 2026 concluded in Abu Dhabi on December 16. A total of 369 players had registered for the auction, and a total of 77 players were sold in the auction. Among them were 40 uncapped players. KKR came with the highest budget in the auction and purchased the maximum number of players. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the second-most number of players among the 10 teams.

Cameron Green became the most expensive player in the auction and was picked by KKR for a price of INR 25.20 crore. A total of four teams, including KKR, made a bid for Green in the auction. The second-most expensive player in the auction was Sri Lanka’s speedster Matheesha Pathirana, who was also picked by KKR for INR 18 crore.

1. Kartik Sharma (INR 14.20 Crore) – Chennai Super Kings
Kartik became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the auction. He is a 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan and made his T20 debut during the last season of SMAT. Chennai Super Kings fought a bidding war against the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad to pick Kartik for a price of INR 14.20 crore. Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians also made bids for the wicketkeeper.

Kartik has played a total of 12 T20 matches so far for Rajasthan. He has made a total of 334 runs at an average of 30.36 and a strike rate of 162.92. Kartik bats in the middle-order and scored a century on debut in the Ranji Trophy. He played in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 2024 and finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 457 runs to his name in 10 outings.
2. Prashant Veer (INR 14.20 Crore) – Chennai Super Kings
Prashant Veer is a 20-year-old left-arm spin-bowling allrounder from Uttar Pradesh. He attended a trial with CSK before the auction and impressed the management. Prashant made his T20 debut for UP in 2023 and has featured in nine matches since then.

He has made 112 runs at a strike rate of 167.16 and has taken 12 wickets at an average of 16.66. In the last edition of the UP T20, he made 320 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 155.34 and took nine wickets at an economy of 6.76.
3. Auqib Nabi Dar (INR 8.40 crore) – Delhi Capitals
Auqib Nabi Dar became the third-most expensive uncapped Indian player in the IPL 2026 auction. The all-rounder has been one of the best performers in domestic cricket in recent times. He played his first T20 match in 2019 and has played a total of 34 T20 matches so far.

He has taken 43 wickets so far in T20s at an average of 21.81, an economy of 7.74, and a strike rate of 16.9. In the ongoing SMAT, he has taken 15 wickets in seven matches at an average of 13.26 and is the leading wicket-taker for Jammu & Kashmir. In his recent outing against Madhya Pradesh, Auqib made 32 runs off 21 deliveries and took three wickets for 19 runs. He won the Player of the Match award. It was his second Player of the Match award in SMAT.
4. Mangesh Yadav (INR 5.20 Crore) – Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Mangesh Yadav made his T20 debut in the SMAT on December 14 for Madhya Pradesh against Jharkhand. In two matches, he has taken three wickets and scored 28 runs so far. He is a left-arm pacer and can bat in the middle order. He is a perfect replacement for someone like Yash Dayal.

In the recent edition of the Madhya Pradesh Premier League, Mangesh finished as the leading wicket-taker. He took 14 wickets in six matches at an average of 12, an economy of eight, and a strike rate of nine.
5. Tejasvi Dahiya (INR 3 Crore) – Kolkata Knight Riders
Tejasvi Dahiya is a 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Delhi, who made his T20 debut in SMAT in November this year. He has scored 113 runs in six T20 matches so far at a strike rate of 168.65. In his List A debut last year, Tejasvi made a century and won the Player of the Match award.

In the latest edition of the Delhi Premier League, Tejasvi made 339 runs in 10 games at an average of 48.43 and a strike rate of 190.45. He hit a total of 29 sixes, the second most in the tournament.
