Salil began his professional career early by representing Punjab in the Under-19 circuit, where his performances stood out. The major breakthrough came during the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season, when he made his first-class debut for Punjab, officially entering India’s domestic cricket scene.

Salil Arora delivered a standout performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, scoring an unbeaten 125 for Punjab against Jharkhand on December 12. He continued his fine form with an unbeaten 42 against Andhra. In Punjab’s third Super League match of the season, he once again impressed by smashing a quick 50 off just 29 balls against Madhya Pradesh.

In red-ball cricket, Arora has played nine first-class matches, scoring 458 runs in 14 innings, demonstrating his ability to perform in longer formats.

He has scored 358 runs in eight innings in the SMAT 2025 at a strike rate of 198.89. He is also the second-highest six-hitter, smashing 28 sixes. 

Salil Arora Bought By SRH For INR 1.50 Crore 

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the uncapped young talent for INR 1.50 crore at the IPL 2026 mini-auction after strong bidding with MI. Teams were impressed by his explosive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and his ability to perform well in all formats. 

This aggressive approach fits perfectly with Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting style, which focuses on fast scoring. Bought for INR 1.5 crore, he looks like a smart and value pick for the team. In addition to his batting, Arora can also keep wickets, giving SRH extra flexibility and providing reliable backup to Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen.

He will now play alongside his Punjab teammate Abhishek Sharma under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. With his powerful batting and wicketkeeping skills, Arora is aiming for a top-order role.
