Kohli has scored eight centuries and 63 half-centuries in the league. No other batter has scored more centuries or half-centuries than Kohli. He has hit the third-most number of sixes (291) in the tournament.

AB de Villiers, also known as Mr 360, is one of the most complete batters of this generation. The Proteas batter had the power to play any shots and was able to dominate the bowlers. Top Batters of IPL 2026

IPL 2025 saw some of the best performances from not only experienced players but also from young players. Sai Sudharsan finished as the top run-scorer, followed by Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli. Indian Test captain Shubman Gill was in fourth place, while Mitchell Marsh was in fifth place.

He also became the youngest batter to score a century in the IPL. Priyansh scored 103 runs off 42 deliveries and hit seven fours and nine sixes.

Batters have had a significant influence on the IPL since its inception. Batters who have been successful in the league have gone on to play for their respective countries and achieved similar success there as well.

Kohli, Warner, and Gayle have been the batters who have achieved the same level of success at both the IPL and the international level. Gayle became the first batter to win the Orange Cap twice.
