In the Ranji Trophy points table, teams will earn points based on match outcomes, whereas standings are determined by total points, with Net Run Rate (NRR) as the tie-breaker.

Format of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite, each team will play 7 matches during the league phase, facing off against the other 7 teams in their group once.
After the league stage, the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the knockout rounds. There are 4 Quarter-Finals featuring the leading 8 teams from the groups. Winners then proceed to 2 Semi-Finals, with the victors of those clashes meeting in 1 grand Final to crown the champion.
In contrast, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate, each team will play 5 matches in the league phase in a round-robin format. After the group stage, the top 2 teams from the single Plate group advance directly to the Final.
