SRH V LSG: IPL MATCH 12 PREVIEW

The Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Lucknow Super Giants in match no 12 of 2022 IPL at the DY patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Lucknow recorded its first two points in IPL table after a remarkable win over the Chennai Super Kings, where they chased down the 5th highest total in the tournament. A characteristic Quinton de Kock innings and a thrilling finish by Evin Lewis and Ayush Badoni secured Lucknow two points. The young Ayush Badoni seems to be a star in the making, as he has shown amazing composure under pressure and he was faced with challenging circumstances in both games he played. Lucknow will be boosted by the addition of Jason Holder. He has taken 24 wkts in middle and death overs since 2020 season.

While SRH had a decent start with the ball in Powerplay, a no ball ruined it. Samson, Paddikal, and Hetmyer didn't let their scoring rate drop and posted a mamoth total of 210. SRH never looked like they were in the chase and Aiden Markram's 50 and Sundar's 40 were the only bright spots.

Form Update
(IPL 2021 and 2022)

Key Players:

Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul: 2589 runs at a SR of 140. No one has scored more runs than him since 2018. KL has put consistent 500+ runs seasons for 4 times in a row.

Quinton de Kock: He was one of the pillars of MI's batting line up. After switching to MI, QDK scored 500+ in 2 seasons. In Powerplay, he has scored the 2nd most runs in the last 3 seasons. He strikes at 152 against Pace since 2019.

Ravi Bishnoi: The 2020 U19 WC star succesfully made it into the national side in the recently held home series against WI. He won the MoM award on debut. He has an eco of 7 and taken 26 wkts since his debut in 2020 out of which 21 came in the middle overs. He gave away just 24 runs and picked 2 wkts against CSK in last game which was a run fest and almost 420 runs were scored in the match

Avesh Khan:He broke the headlines when he became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL when he was bought by LSG for 10 crores. Last IPL was a breakthrough season for this pacer from Madhya Pradesh. He took the 2nd most wickets (24) at an esteemed economy of 7.4. That was the 2nd best economy for a pacer after Siraj and only second to Yuzi Chahal if we consider minimum 15 wickets criteria. He took 10 wickets at the death at an economy of 8.9. He has been a touch expensive in the 1st games of this season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Kane Williamson: The opening game marked the return of Kane Williamson to competetive cricket after 4 months and the franchise would be hoping for their skipper to repeat his 2018 heroics. Whats been impressive is Kane's SR at death is 172 in last 2 seasons.

Rahul Tripathi: Tripathi burst onto the scene in 2017 while opening for Rising Pune Supergiant. He racked up 391 runs at an impressive strike rate of 146. He had a a couple of off seasons with RR but was back at his best in KKR. Donning a new role, Tripathi batted in middle order and amassed 397 runs at a SR of 140. No wonder he fetched 8.5 crores in the auctions as he possesses the unique ability to attack from ball one.

Aiden Markram: In the past one year, Markram has scored 570 runs for SA at a SR of 148. He had a very good outing in t20 wc and was featured in ICC's team of the tournament. Markram is also a useful part time off spinner and does the job well in Powerplay
