T20WC Preview: AUS vs WI

The knocked-out defending champions will be looking to diminish the hopes of a semi-final berth of their arch-rivals in yellow. West Indies would like to put up a good show to give a dignified farewell to their 'champion' DJ Bravo who is set to retire today.

So much more is at stake for Australia who is tied at 6 points with South Africa although with a better run rate. They would need this win to take care of the eventuality of SA winning their last one. Run rate scenarios shall be clearer for Proteas when they play later in the day.

Head To Head
Overall: West Indies lead 10-6
In T20WC: West Indies lead 3-2

Pitch

Pitch has been better for batting off late and teams batting first scored 185+ in the last 3 matches and successfully defended it. Expect Australia to put runs on the board if they win the Toss.

Key Players

Australia

Openers: Both the experienced men at the top have got it going especially Finch who has looked in immaculate control. They will be tasked with making the majority of runs against a toothless attack in this all-important game.

Adam Zampa: Riding on the confidence of a 5 wicket haul in the last game, Zampa will be looking to bowl more attacking. The prime hitters of the West Indies lineup don't have a great record against Right Arm Spin either.

West Indies

Evin Lewis: Clicked against the best attack of the tournament and failed against the rest. He hasn't reached double-digit scores in the rest of the 3 putting barring South Africa where he made a fantastic fifty. He has been in great touch this year and is due for another big knock.

Nicholas Pooran: Pooran has 2 back to back forties in the last 2 innings against BAN & SL but have failed against the rest. Plays at a key position and is a must-have in the Dream XI.

Jason Holder: Plenty of experience keeps him in the middle of all-around action and very rarely he fails in both innings. A safe bet for today and should fetch 30 points at the very least.
