IPL 2023 PREVIEW: MI vs SRH

When Mumbai played at Hyderabad the last time, they emerged victorious and went on to secure their fourth IPL trophy by defeating CSK in the final by a margin of one run. Notably, this particular venue has proven to be auspicious for Mumbai as they have won two out of their five trophies at this location. Both Mumbai and SRH come into their upcoming game having won their previous matches against KKR. It is worth mentioning that both teams had lost their initial two games but have since bounced back with two consecutive victories

Mumbai Indians have exhibited impressive batting performances in their recent matches, with Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma leading the charge. However, the upcoming match presents a challenging scenario for them, given their past struggles against left-arm seamers, which SRH possess in abundance. Rohit has a rather unimpressive average of 20.31 against SRH, which happens to be his lowest against any team. Nonetheless, Surya has managed to regain his form, as evidenced by his half-century in the last match, a performance that would provide him with the necessary confidence to continue his good run. Tilak Verma has also been in good form, whereas the dynamic duo of Cameron Green and Tim David have played crucial innings when it mattered the most. Spin bowling is expected to play a crucial role in this match, with Piyush Chawla demonstrating excellent form and economy. It will be intriguing to witness Abhishek and Rahul Tripathi's approach against him, particularly given that the latter is known to prefer hitting spinners more than pacers.

Probable XI:

Rohit, Ishan, Green, Surya, Tilak, Tim David, Hritik, Arjun, Chawla, Behrendorff, Meredith/Jofra

Sunrisers, on the other hand, have enjoyed a four-day break, before which Harry Brook showcased his remarkable skills by scoring his maiden IPL century. Agarwal, who is yet to find his groove with the bat, will strive to deliver an improved performance in today's match. In the middle order, Rahul Tripathi has been the pillar of SRH's batting lineup ever since he joined the team. Markram and Klaasen have both displayed promising form and could prove to be pivotal once again in today's battle. All eyes will be on Washington Sundar, who has dismissed MI's skipper three times in their last four encounters. Natarajan has managed to take a wicket against every team except Mumbai, being wicketless in all his games against them, with an economy rate of 10.58. It will be fascinating to see whether Nattu can put an end to this unwanted streak. Furthermore, Mayank Markande, a former MI player, has impressed in this tournament thus far. Having played only two matches at Hyderabad, he managed to pick up four wickets in both games.
