GT v DC: IPL MATCH 10, PREVIEW & PREDICTION

The new entrants Gujarat Titans will lock horns with Delhi Capitals in match no 10 of 2022 IPL at the MCA stadium in Pune. Both the teams are coming from a memorable win in their 1st games and would be high on confidence

Gujarat Titans had a memorable debut as they emerged victorious in a 5 wkt win over another debutants Lucknow Superginats. Mohammad Shami's powerplay heroics and a classic Tewatia finish were the highlights of the game. Gujarat gave opportunity to Abhinav Manohar Sadarangani and he did not disappoint in his 1st outing as he kept his nerve in the final 2 overs

Delhi Capitals beat their 2020 finalists MI by 4 wkts at Brabourne Stadium. DC looked out of the chase but a late flourish from Shardul Thakur and then a fireworks from Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav afterwards ensured a DC win with 9 balls to spare. Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav starred for DC and did not let MI get to a big total. It would be interesting to see if DC swap Nagarkoti for Mustafizur Rahman.

Form Update
(IPL 2021 & 2022)

Key Players

Delhi Capitals

Prithvi Shaw: What makes Shaw different from the current crop of openers? Since Shaw’s IPL debut in 2018, he has scored 932 runs in the Powerplay at a whopping SR of 146.8. No one has scored more runs than him at a better SR. The next best on this list is Jos Butler with 663 runs at an SR of 149.

Rishabh Pant: Delhi's skipper has scored 2500 runs at a SR of 147 since his debut season in 2016. Only AB De Villiers has scored more runs than him in this period at a better SR. He thrashed all records when he recorded the most runs by an Indian middle order player with 684 runs in the 2018 edition.

Rovman Powell: Promoted to no 3 in the series against England, Powell scored a scintillating 107. He also displayed his skills in the recent t20i series against India. Powell is one of the most brutal hitter in white ball cricket. With Marsh's unavailability, its expected he'll take the no 3 position in the batting line up or play the finisher's role.

Axar Patel: Needs only 5 wkts to enter the 100 wkt club in the IPL. His eco of 7.2 is the best in the tournament for a left arm spinner (min 200 overs)

Shardul Thakur: Be it any format, he has the knack of picking wkts and always delivers at crucial junctures. He picked up 21 wkts last season for CSK. In the opening game he scored a quick cameo and kept Delhi in the hunt.

Gujarat Titans:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz: In addition to being a hard hitting batsman, Gurbaz is also a talented wicketkeeper. He is prolific in the T20 format having scored over 1600 runs at a strike rate of 151.8. He has made an immediate impact in leagues around the world by scoring good knocks on his debut in the BPL and the LPL. With Mathhew Wade in the side, he will have to wait for his opportunity.

Rashid Khan: He is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. No bowler has a better economy than him in the league (6.3). With 93 wkts he is second on the list of most wkts since 2017. He has 72 wkts in the middle overs.

Hardik Pandya: India's best all rounder had an outing to forget last year. Due to Injuries, Hardik has not been bowling and subsequently lost his place in the national side for these 2 reasons. This IPL is a great opportunity for him to win the trust back of the selectors and make a strong statement ahead of the t20 wc. In 2019 and 2020, Hardik scored the most runs in the death overs. He smashed 463 runs at a SR of 221 with 39 sixes. He has started well in his 1st game both with the bat and the ball. His final over spoiled his overall match figures.

Mohammad Shami: Since the last season, Mohammad Shami has picked up 22 wkts at an eco of 7.5. GT would be hoping an another PP masterclass by him as Shawcan take the game away in 1st half an hour.
